Nearvy

Safety

Practical safety guidance and the controls available when meeting people through Nearvy.

Before you join

  • Read the event details and ask questions before agreeing to meet.
  • Choose a public, populated place for a first meetup.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • Arrange transport you control and keep enough battery and connectivity to leave safely.

Nearvy controls

Joining is request-based: the host chooses whether to accept a request. Event chat is available after acceptance so participants can coordinate before meeting. People are not displayed as live location pins on the map; the map shows events and walks. You can report users or events and block users inside the app.

While meeting

Protect private information until trust develops. Do not share home addresses, financial details, passwords, or verification codes. Avoid pressure to move somewhere isolated, send money, use unknown links, or do anything that feels unsafe. Trust your judgment and leave when you need to.

Get help

Use in-app report and block controls for conduct or content concerns. You can also contact Nearvy Support. Nearvy is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services when immediate help is required.
